About Cork

Cork is a natural product - a protected renewable resource harvested from trees which keep on growing. They are stripped of their outer layer every nine years and will produce for hundreds of years. You can use cork to create a marvellous living environment without harming the eco-systems we all share.

Cork is versatile; as tiles can be laid in patterns with inlays and borders, and is eco-friendly. The new finishes are non-toxic, solvent free, making them totally safe for both humans and animals.

Each cork cell - and there are 4 million per square inch, is a miniture sound insulator, a miniature thermal insulator and a tiny shock absorber. Cork is a brilliant sound insulator - reducing footstep noise within a room and between floors by as much as 20 decibels, providing a much quieter environment than other floors.

Cork Flooring

Cork is durable with high wear resistance. It is resistant to stains and chemicals. Cork tiles are high density and will withstand heavy furniture and high heels. Cork is resistant to scuffs and scratches and is easy to keep clean.

Cork is a warm and inviting surface on which to sit, play or exercise, and is ideal for allergy suffers. Cork does not harbour dust mites or pollen, and produces no chemical or particulate irritants.

Resurfacing with a fresh coat of polyurethane is a simple and quick process these days, and your tiles will look as new again. Most floors will benefit from another coat within 3-5 years. Looking after the polyurethane surface will give years of wear.
